John has always been a keen observer of American life and sports. At an early age, John realized that American’s pastimes and hobbies speak a great deal about our society as a whole. As a young athlete, John became interested in the way sports have a unique ability to draw people together. From his own experience as a young player on the baseball diamond and as a college football player on the gridiron, John observed that the excitement of the game and the competition on the field provides countless hours of entertainment and allows people to come together and celebrate in a united way. Along with his passion for sports and camaraderie, John became interested in the art of photography. John believes that photographs and images provide the perfect vehicle to visually capture the extraordinary atmosphere of sporting events. John’s passion for sports photography has developed into a passion for other genres of photography as well. These genres include political, musical and other entertainment, automotive, and landscape photography among countless others. In order to begin collecting different varieties of photographs, John decided publications such as magazines and newspapers would enable him to expand his collection. As the Rogers Photo Archive has continued to grow, it has become John’s mission to help educate the public about the history and significance of photographic imagery by capturing the spirit of our nation in a visually unique way. John has created a reputable company out of his passion for life and photography. He now employs a team of 52 full-time staff members who are dedicated to sharing the artistic images of the Rogers Photo Archive with the public.
